    Sometime after this, Arcule (aka Arthur) purhased an additional 40 acres. By 1913, Arthur owned 160 acres of Section 22, Twp 38 N, Ranges 19 and 20 W, located in Delta Co, MI.

    According to the 1910 Census, Arcule was married to Minnie, but we havea marriage for him that indicates otherwise. Perhaps the Census taker was somewhat familiar with the family but a little in error as to Arcule's wife's name. If this wife is really Rose, then it makes sense that she reportedly had never borne any children, as Mary and Arthur belonged to Minnie. It also agrees with Arcule's marriage to Rose, as they hadbeen married 9 years, which is within a year of their 1899 marriage date.

    In the 1920 Census, Arcule and son Arthur were listed as Arthur AURBURNSr and Jr, but indexed as AMBOUR.

    Note added 29 Jan 2012: After thinking that Arcule and Minnie had only Mary and Arthur, we have found another child, Harriet, who died as a small child and was buried in a plot near which her sister,Mary, and her father's second wife, Rose, were later buried.

    According to her death certificate, Mary died from a condition known aspuerperal eclampsia. In every source consulted, puerperal eclampsia always referred to a condition regarding women during or after childbirth. This seems strange as Mary was notmarried and there was no mention of pregnancy or childbirth on her death certificate.

    According to her death certificate, Mary was buried in Fayette Cemeteryin Fayette, Delta Co, MI. However, there is a gravemarker for her in Saint Peter the Fisherman Cemetery in Delta Co, MI.

    Cause: She also suffered from epilepsy, which contributed to her death.

    Escanaba -- Escanaba's newest industry, Arbour Furniture Manufacturers,has begun operation here in a building recently purchased by Foy Arbour, 23-year old ex-sailor and WWII veteran, who is the sole proprietor of the business. The announcement ofthe opening of another industry in the city was made by Gust Asp, chairman of the Chamber of Commerce industrial committee, which encouraged and assisted Arbour in getting organized. Arbour already has a substantial order for Adirondack chairs, a type of lawn chair made of knotty pine, and about seven employees have begun cutting stock for the product. He expects to make his first shipment to jobbers next week. Women will be employed in assembling the chairsbut only men will work on the plantmachines. More than half a dozen pieces of new equipment, joiners, bandsaws, scroll and table saws, have been installed and more are on the way. When the company gets into production, the youthful ex-serviceman expects to employ as many as 14 men and women in the plant and hopes to turn out small pieces of finished furniture such as end tables. Arbour had begun manufacturing trellises, lawn furniture, and similar items on a small scale in 1941, but had gaveup the project to join the navybefore America's entry into war. The young manufacturer learned the woodworking craft working with his father,Arthur Arbour, and his uncles, who have had years of experience in thesawmill, carpentry, and woodworking trades.

    Gladstone -- Foy Arthur Arbour, 83, of 6012 18 Pt. 25 Road, Gladstone (Bay View Location), passed away Saturday, 4 March 2006, at the VA Hospital in Iron Mountain. He was born 4 Aug 1922, in Garden, and was the son of Arthur and Hilda (Foy) Arbour.He was a veteran of World War II, serving in the US Navy from 15 April 1942, until he was honorably discharged on 13 April 1945. Foy married the former Betty Steinhauer and she preceded him in death on 2 Dec 1987. He was the owner of Peninsula Industrial Sales and later Arbour Sales until his retirement. Foy was a member of the Escanaba Elk's Lodge354, Rotary, the American Legion and he served on the board of directors for the SCORE Organization. He was a member of the Eagle's Club in Escanaba. Foy Arthur Arbour is survived by:two sons, Richard (Debra) Arbour of Cornell, and Michael (Janet) Arbour of DePere, WI; six grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents and wife, two brothers and one sister preceded him in death. The family and friends will gather from 3:30 to 4 pm Thursday, at the Anderson Funeral Home in Escanaba. Delta County Veteran's Services will be conducted at 4 pmThursday atthe Anderson Funeral Home by theDelta County Veteran's Council. A luncheon will follow the military rites at the Elk's Club in Escanaba. Entombment will take place in the Gardens of RestMausoleum.     Escanaba (AP) -- Four persons drowned Sunday night when a motorboat carrying six persons on a holiday outing capsized on Green Bay five miles south of Escanaba Harbour. Two survivors, who clung to the boat for 10 hours, were picked up today by a passing ore carrier, the Frontenac. Sheriff deputies identified the dead as William Hamm, 26, his wife Elaine, 25, and David Clarence Arbour, 2, all of Escanaba, and Miss Jeanne McClinchey, 32, of Hulbert. The survivors were Mr. and Mrs.Clarence Arbour, parents of the dead boy and owners of the boat. Arbour held the bodyof his son when he was rescued. Arbour and his wife were taken to Escanaba Hospital for treatment of shock and exposure. Arbour said the party left Sunday for a 24-mile trip toWashington Island and ran out of gas. He said the boat capsized while the party was transferring fuel fromthe can to the engine. The Frontenac brought in the two survivors and the body of one of the victims. A fishing tug brought in the other two bodies.
