12 April 1881 -- Born in Ste-Emelie-de-l'Energie, QC, Joseph-Alexis ARBOUR was the 2nd of 9 children of farmer Marie-Joseph ARBOUR and Alphonsine DUCHARME. While Alexis was just a teenager, his father Joseph decided to leave what must have been fast-becoming the crowded confines of Ste-Emelie. In the spring of 1899, the whole family arrived on the train in Verner, ON; they then continued on toLavigne, ON. In 1901, the family was found living in MacPherson Township, ON, which is where the community of Lavigne is located within Nipissing District. That year, Joseph and the 3 eldest surviving sons, including Alexis, worked their farm. In Verner on 10 August 1908, Alexis married an older woman when he wed 37-year oldMarie-Louise-Virginie-Angelina CHAMPAGNE. They then had 4 children together, 3 daughters and one son who was born when Evelina was almost 43-years old. Evelina was 79-years old when she died in Lavigne on 02 April 1949. Alexis was 76-years old when he died in Lavigneon09 March 1958. Both of them were buried in Our Lady of the Visitation Catholic Cemetery in Lavigne. Only one grandchild is known for them.

Born in Verner, ON, Lilianne was 1 of 4 children of farmer Joseph-Alexis ARBOUR and his wife Marie-Louise-Virginie-Angelina CHAMPAGNE. She married later in life when she wed Cyrias StGEORGES on 24 May 1954 in Lavigne, ON. They had no children together. Lilianne was 81-years old when she passed away on 01 Dec 1992 in Sturgeon Falls, ON. It is unknown when or whereCyrias died

ARBOUR, Joseph 1923-2004 -- Is peacefully deceased at Au Chateau, a rest home for the aged, on Thursday, 19 Aug 2004, at 91 years old. He leaves in mourning his sister Beatrice (Gabriel St-George) ofSturgeon Falls; his goddaughter of very close friends Joseph and Raymonde (Gilbert Gaudette) of Sturgeon Falls; and a brother-in-law, Cyrias St-George. Predeceased by his parents, Alexis Arbour and Evelina (nee Champagne), and a sister Lilianne St-George. The family will accomodate parents and friends at Theoret Funeral Home, Sturgeon Falls, today, Saturday 21 Aug, from 11 am to 1 pm. Reverend Robert Lavoie will lead the funerarl mass at the Parish of Notre Dame de la Visitation, Lavigne, today, Saturday 21 Aug, at 1:30 pm. Condolences maybe expressed by gifts to the Alzheimers Soceity and the Pulmonary Association.
