    On 28 May 1944, Ena crossed the border into the US at Niagara Falls, NY. She carried British passport #36309, valid until 14 Mar 1949. She claimed that she was going to the home of Harry HICKEY in Lewiston, NY, tovisit for a few hours; however, shesailed out of Halifax in Apr 1944 on the SS Louis Pasteur -- seems like a long way to go for just a few hours. In any event, Ena was reported to be 5' 1 1/12" with a fair complexion, brown hair, and brown eyes. She had $2 in her pocketbook. Ena seems to have left young Helen in the care of her mother-in-law.

    ARBOUR, Angusina 'Ena'
    Arbour, Angusina Ena -- It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Ena Arbour on 28 October 2012 at Juravinski Hospital in her 91st year. Beloved wife of the late Stan. Loving mother ofHelen McLaren,Bill Arbour, Susan Start, and Bob Arbour. Dear Nan of Don, Laurie Hickey (Jim), Lisa Bigney (Jason), Eric Slabosz, Jamie Slabosz (Felicia), and Adam Arbour. Great grandmother of 10 grandchildren and 2 great greatgrandchildren. Survived by many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by herson-in-law Michael McLaren, granddaughter Linda, brother George and sisters Janet and Susan. Ena wasa longtime parishioner of St Margaret Mary Parish and was a past member of the Catholic Women's League. Arrangements out of Hamilton. Funeral Masswill be offered at St Margaret Mary Parish on Wednesday, 31 October at 10:30 am. Interment. Donations to theCanadian Cancer Society and the SPCA would be appreciated by the family.
