08 May 1908 -- Born in Lavigne, Ontario, Joseph-Wallace-"Albert" ARBOUR was the 2nd of 17 children of farmer Joseph-Oscar ARBOUR and his wife Albina BEAUDRY. As a young man, Oscar had moved with his family fromSte-Emelie, Quebec to northern Ontario. It was in the community of Lavigne, that all of Oscar and Albina's children were born and where theirlegacy continues through today. Albert found his own wife in Lavigne and married her there on 15 June 1943. Laurianna GIGUERE was also heartyand from strong pioneering stock. She and Albert brought 7 children into this world: Claude, Emilien,Gerard, Marthe, Jean-Marc, Denise, and Therese. In about 1946, the young family moved from Lavigne to Sturgeon Falls, Ontario,where Albert died on 17 June 1996, at the age of 88. He was buried in the Our Lady of the Visitation Catholic Cemetery in Lavigne. Laurianna then moved back to Lavigne, where she still lived in February 2003. Albert and Laurianna were both able to welcome all 15 of their grandchildren, but Albert passed away before meeting their 8 great-grandchildren.He had 7 Living Arbour

Upon entering the US for the first time on 09 Jan 1944 via the port of Niagara Falls, NY, Celina and her husband Joseph intended to have a short 3-day honeymoon visit with her father-in-law in Corfu,NY. Celina wasnoted as 5'2" with a dark complexion, brown hair, and brown eyes. She carried $5 with her. The next day, 10 Jan 1944, Celina went back to theimmigration office to state that she wanted to remain in the US indefinitely. All of her info remained the same. She must have then gone backto Canada the next day in order to retrieve her belongings. She again returned to Niagara Falls for border crossing, this time on 21 Jan 1944. She apparently stayed this second time until Sep 1944, as stated by her immigration papers on 12 Jan 1946.Perhaps Sep 1944 was when Joseph shipped out. On 20 Dec 1945, he was honorably discharged from the Army and the next month made the border crossing with Celina. She also stated her intentions at this time to become a USCitizen.

VEHICLES COLLIDE ON HILL, TWO DIE
A car-truck collision 12 miles southwest of Sturgeon Falls Saturday night claimed the lives of two drivers, a Sudbury man and a Sturgeon Fallsarea man. Dead are Edmond Arbour, 57, of 110 Roger St, Sudbury, and Marcel Joseph Legault, 34, of SpringerTwp. A Sturgeon Falls OPP spokesman said the accident occurred around 7 pm on Piette Rd in Caldwell Twp. The spokesman said Legault's pickup truck was southboudh while Arbour'scar was northbound, when they met at the crest of a hillon the gravelroad. It was raining at the time. Both drivers were alone in their vehicles and there were no witnesses to the collision. Dr. D. M. Clark of North Bay was named coroner. Con. T. Callaghan and Cpl. B. A. Reid of Sturgeon Falls OPP are conducting aninvestigation. Post mortem is scheduled today in Sudbury.

Dear father of Lise Remillard of Verner (Jean-Noel Remillard - deceased) (friend Laurent), Nicole Talon (Tim) of Toronto, Francine Rivet (Jacques) of Sudbury, Marie-Luce Arbour of Sudbury, Gilles Arbour and Micheline (Aime Beaudry) of Verner, and Monique (Clement Beaudry) of Lavigne. His memory will always be in thehearts of his15 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. He leaves to grieve his brothers and sisters: Laurencia Ducharme of Sturgeon Falls, Celina Mazurof Corfu (New York), Valeda Rainville, Theodora Rousseau and Lionel Arbour from Sudbury, and Leona Ducharme from Lavigne. He joins in Paradise his father Oscar and his mother Albina (nee Beaudry) as well as five sisters and five brothers: Delima Corriveau, Florida Crepeau, Elodia Vincent, Alice Corriveau, Ida Stora, Albert,Lucien, Emile, Leo, and Edmond.Family receiving friends at the Theoret Funeral Home in Sturgeon Falls, today, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm.
