- Stephanie Corbeil married Alexander Tessier dit Lavigne about 1875 and they emigrated to the United States (Michigan) in 1882.In the 1900 U.S.Census they are listed as "Casey" but in 1910 the surname is "Tessier". The name changes, their marriage details, and past history remain puzzling. My grandfather was Charles Casey, one of ten children, and interestly the first daughter, born in 1883, was named "Mathilde".Best wishes, Gerald Casey (Tessier)Believe it or not Stephanie was commonly called "Fannie", Helena was "Nellie", Mathilde was "Tillie", and Melvina was"Minnie".
