ARBOUR, Hector (Clairi)
Mr. Hector (Clairi) Arbour died at the Levis Hospital, 3 January 2004, at the age of 86 years and 5 months. He was first married to the late Angeline Boutin and second to the late Lucienne Brochu. He lived at Domaine du Carrefour in St-Cajetan, Armagh, Bellechasse County. The family will accommodate relatives and friends at the Roy & RouleauFuneral Home Inc., 6 Factory Street, Armagh, on Friday, 9 January 2004, from 7-10 pm. On Saturday, the day of the funeral, the funeral home will be open from 8:30 am. The religious service will be celebrated on Saturday, 10 January 2004, at 10 am at St-Cajetan Church in Armagh. He leaves in mourning his children: Gemma (Joseph Isabelle), Denis (Yvonne Van Parys), Lisette (Yvon Audet), Lorraine,Yvon (Rejeanne Thibault), and Marcelle (James Vanderven); his grandchildren; his great-grandchildren; as well as his brothers and sisters, brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, nephews, nieces, cousins, and friends of the families Arbour, Boutin, andBrochu. A special thanks to the personnel of Domaine du Carrefour, as well as to the personnel of the Levis Hospital for the great care lavished on Mr. Hector Arbour. According to Serges BERUBES:I asked an aunt that likes to have her noseinto everythingand she tells me that the right spelling is Clairi. "Itis short for Claridin, a surname that was often used in the St Raphaelarea duringthat period." That name apparently also appeared onhis birth certificate.
On at least one occasion, Clairi was also known as Jean-Hector ARBOUR and Claridin ARBOUR.
