24 April 1919 -- Born in Willimantic, Connecticut, Francis E. ARBOUR was the 2nd of 4 children of machinist Joseph-Amedee ARBOUR and his wife Alexina PELLETIER. When Francis enlisted in the Army on 15 March 1941, he was noted to be 5' 6" tall, weighing 127 pounds. Little is known of his service during WWII, but after the war, Francis returned to Connecticut, married, and raised a family. Francis wed Carolyn L. VACCA in about 1948. Their daughter Francine was born the following year. Next came3sons through 1956. The family lived in New London, CT, during the early 1950s. However, by 1957 and through the 1960s, they lived in Mystic,CT, where Francis was a guard with the E B Company. Francis was just shy of his 56th birthday when hedied in West Haven, CT, on 26 March 1975. Just 3 months after his death, Carolyn married Lawrence H. PONT on 17June 1975 in Stonington, CT. Lawrence died on 19 January 2003; Carolynwas still living in their home in Pawcatuck, CT, at the time. Francis and Carolyn are known to have 2 grandchildren.
