Notes - In about 1928, 18-year old Lloyd moved with his family from Victoria Harbour to Toronto. Six years later, he fell in love with a young woman named Thelma Mary SMITH. Thelma was born in England in about 1907. At age five, she came with her family toCanada. In her younger years and prior to meeting Lloyd, Thelma bore three daughters. Dulcie and Helen lived to have daughters of their own, but a third died in a car accident atage seven. Mindless of Thelma's past, Lloyd married heron 3 November1934 at St Paul's in Toronto. Reverend J. G. FULLERTON officiated while Alfred GIROUX and Lloyd's sister Henrietta ARBOUR witnessed. Lloyd and Thelma had three children together, one daughter and two sons. They alsoadopted twogirls who were Thelma's granddaughters from her two grown daughters. Lloyd was a 54-year old bricklayer when he died in Sarnia, asthe result of head injuries received in a freak car accident. He was working at the Sun Oil refinery one very foggy morning and was backingoutof the main gate with his head out of the car window so he could see.He never saw the gatepost and crushed his head between the gatepost and the car door sill. What a tragedy for the family!
