Notes - Philandria married Charles Spooner Laycock in 1854 and her first childMaud was born in Sheffield in 1856. They lived in Canada for a whileas her second child Una was born in Montreal in 1859, but they wereback in Sheffield by 1861 as they appear onthe Census at her father'shouse. Husband Charles however was not present and it's not clear ifthey were visiting or living there. She was not described as a widow.It isn't known what Charles' occupation was but 1866 he died and in1870Philandria remarried. In the same year daughter Una died.Her second husband was WalterSpencer Scattergood who was 15 yearsolder than Philandria and 55 when they were married. His occupationwas Surveyor and in 1871 they were boarders with Maud at a house inBurlemStoke-on-Trent.By 1891, Philandria was a widow again and joint lodging house keeperwith widowed sister Henrietta in Monmouth Street, Ecclesall,Sheffield.In 1901 aged 70, she iwas a pensioner at an Alms House run byShrewsbury Hospital which was acharity and she died aged 74 in 1905.
