He claimed that he had only finished the 8th grade. His being stationed in Hawaii would explain how he met Louise. Apparently they were not yet married in April 1940, as he was reported as being single. Therefore, one might conclude that Gilroy and James arenot his sons but are Louise's from a former relationship.

Phillip Lawrence Arbour,82, of Mayflower,died 9 October 2003 in Conway Regional Medical Center. He was born in Pittston, ME, on 7 May 1921. Hewas preceded in death by his wife Venetta Arbour. Mr. Arbour was a WWII Veteran, serving in Japanwith the US Army 82nd ChemicalBattalion. He was a former Commander of the Veterans of Foreign Wars, Mayflower Post,and a member of the American Legion and Disabled American Veterans. Hespent his career as a professional photographer, owning studios in Little Rock, North LittleRock, and Memphis.
