Burchhardts To Make Home On Crane St
Miss Marie Arbour, daughter of Mr and Mrs Jon Arbour of Bonaventure, Quebec, Canada,became the bride of John Maitland Burchhardt, son of Mr and Mrs Otto Burchhardt of Jackson Place, on 29 July at the Sacred Heart French Catholic Church. Miss Ermalene Arbour, sister of the bride, was maid of honor and Leonard Arbour, brother of thebride, served as best man. Miss Sarah Alice Burchhardt, sister of the bridegroom, sang "Ave Maria" inlatin. The organ music was played by the church organist. A reception followed at the home of Mr and Mrs Burchhardt. Out of town guestsincluded Mrs Ermalene Arbour of Bonaventure, Quebec, and Mrs Robert Burchhardt of Otego. The bride wore a purple suit with white accessories and a corsage of gardenias. The maid of honor wore a gold street lengthdress with tan accessories and a corsage of mixed roses. The mother ofthe bridegroom wore a moss green silk dress with white accessories anda corsage of red roses. Mrs Burchhardt was graduated from Bonaventure schools and Mr Burchhardt attended Oneonta State Teachers' Collge and Alfred University, leaving the latter when the National Guards were mobilized in 1940. He has served in the Pacific area and was honorably discharged in August 1943. Following a wedding trip to New York, the couplewill make their home at 663 Crane Street. MrsBurchhardt is employed atthe General Electric Co and Mr Burchhardt is employed as a nautical inspector at the Scotia Naval Supply Depot.
