    DEATH OF MRS. MARIE ARBOUR
    The death occurred in Port Arthur Hospital early this morning after a brief illness of Mrs. Marie Arbour, 65, wife of Joseph Arbour, 205 Shaniah St. Born at Gaspe, Quebec, Mr. and Mrs. Arbour were married there in1902 and have lived in Port Arthur for 27 years. Mrs. Arbour was a member of St Andrew's Roman Catholic Church and is survivedby her husband,seven sons, one daughter, four brothers, and 17 grandchildren. The sons are Fred and George, at the family home; Homer and Reginald, Port Arthur; Ashadour, Sarnia; Lionelle, Vancouver; and Dona, Geraldton; the daughter, Louise, Mrs.John Briel, St James Street, Port Arthur; the brothers, Frank, Jacques, and George Dihotte, all of Gaspe. Funeral serviceswill be held Thursday from Everest'sChapel at 8:45 am to St Andrew's Cemetery. Prayers will be said Wednesday evening at Everest's Chapel.

Born in Gaspe, QC, he came to the Lakehead in 1921, where he worked at Canada Car and Foundry for over 30 years. Survived by 2 daughters, Florence, Mrs. Maurice Bordun, and Rose, Mrs. Guy McLean, both of Thunder Bay; 3 sons, Arthur and wife Arlene of Brandon, MB (en route), Maurice and wife Noella of Thunder Bay, and WilfredofCambridge, ON (en route); 20 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren;1 sister, Louise Breiland; 4 brothers, Reg, Wilfred, Dona, and George;nieces and nephews also survive.     Ashador J. Arbour, age 62, of 1310 Colborne, died Thursday in St Joseph's Hospital. He was born in Perce, QC, and came to Sarnia 28 years ago.He was a welder employed at Imperial Oil. Survivingare his wife, the former Levina Bonenfant, of Sarnia; 2daughters, Mrs. Frank (Lorraine) Kucera and Mrs. Tony (Ruth) Bahro, both of Alvinston; a son, Donald, of Sarnia; 6 brothers, Homer, Dona, Fred, Reginald, and George, all ofThunder Bay, ON, andLionel in British Columbia; and 1 sister Mrs. John (Louise) Breiland of Thunder Bay. Funeral service will be held Saturday from McKenzie and Blundy Funeral Home to Sacred Heart Church for mass at 11am. Burial will be in Our Lady of Mercy Cemetery.Prayers will be said at funeral home Friday at 8:30 pm.

    15 May 1908 -- Born in Perce, Quebec, Jean-Ashador ARBOUR was the 4th of 15 children of fisher and school custodian Joseph-Tancrede ARBOUR andhis wife Marie-Flore GUILLOT. Ash was born and baptised as Jean-Adjutor ARBOUR; how his name became Ashador or Ashadore is not known. In about 1920, Ashador made the big move from Quebec to Ontario with his parents and siblings, settling in the Thunder Bayarea, then known as the twodistinct communities of Fort William and Port Arthur. In about 1932, hemarried Levina Octavia BONENFANT, who wasfrom the local area. They had 4 children together: Leonard who died in infancy, Lorraine, Ruth, andDonald. In about 1942, the family moved to Sarnia, ON, where Ash and Levina remained and whereAsh was a welder employed at Imperial Oil. On 06 August 1970, at the age of 62, Ash passed away, leaving Levina to witness the death of their daughter Lorraine, as well as the passing of a grandchild and a great-grandchild. On 17 September 2002, at the age of 89, Levina passed away. At the time therehad been 11 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren, and 4 great-great-grandchildren born to them.

    ARBOUR, Regis 1912 - 2006
    Mr. Regis Arbour, age 93 years, passed away peacefully at Dawson Court on Tuesday, 7 February 2006. Born on 25April 1912 in Quebec, he was raised and educated in Thunder Bay. He was employed as a custodian with HMCS Griffon, retiring after many years of service. Regis is survived by his only son Robert Allison. He was predeceased by his six brothers: Ash, Union, Homer, Fred, George, and Dona and one sister Louise. Cremation has taken place. As per Regis' wishes, no service will be held. If friends so desire, donations to the Memorial Society of Thunder Bay (316 Talbot St. P7A 1J7) would be greatly appreciated.

    ARBOUR
    Mr. Joseph Donat Arbour, age 85 years a resident of 830 Hartland Street, passed away peacefully in the Thunder Bay Regional Hospital (Port Arthur General Site) on Sunday, 12 December 1999, with his family at his side. Born 31 Jul 1914, in Gaspe, QC, he came here as a young boy. He had worked as a welder in his earlier years withthe mines in Geraldton, then as a welder with Dingwell's Machine Shop, and latterly with themaintenance department of the Port Arthur General Hospital, retiring at theage of 73 years. He served in the Tank Corps with the Royal Canadian Army during WWII in Canada at Camp Borden and overseas in Holland and Germany for 3 years. Donat lovedhishome and camp at Shebandowan and was an avid wood-worker, where he excelled in the making of grandfather clocks. He enjoyed times spent with the family pet Jasmine. He was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather and will be sadly missed by hisfamily,his wife Bessie, with whom he shared 62 years; his daughters Donalda(Wim) Vonk of Qualicum Beach, BC (at present here) and Marilyn Stevenson of Thunder Bay; granddaughters Sheryl (Dale) Watson and Carolyn Vonk of Grand Cayman Islands and Jennifer Vonk of Thornhill, ON (at present here); and brother Reginald; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Hewas predeceased by his parents, brothers Ash,George, Freddie, Homer, and Union, and sister Louise. Wilf was born on 2 January 1922, in Port Arthur and has lived all of his life here. He was the son of the late Joseph and MarieArbour. He was a veteran of WWII, and upon his return, he worked first for the Postal Service and then forthe Roman Catholic School Board until his retirement at age 65. He wasa member of St Margaret's Roman Catholic Church and a former member ofthe Royal Canadian Legion Branch 5. His main interests were his family, travel, and fishing. Survivedby his wife Cecile;daughter Carol O'Hare, her husband Charles O'Hare, and grandchildren Michelle and Ryan; daughter Katherine Poirier, her husband Gaston Poirier, and grandchildren Celine and Lisa; daughter Diane Arbour; and sons Leonard andNorman and his wife KathySavinainen. Retired from Saskatchewan Wheat Pool. Dad enjoyed spending time fishing and hunting. Predeceased by his wife Betty (Wright), brothers, and recently sister Louise (Breiland). Survived by brothers Dona and Reg. He will be missed by son Wayne (Susan), daughter Evelyn Peters (Wayne), 5 grandchildren Krissy, Jennifer, Melissa, Adam, and Laura, all of Sault Ste Marie.     FUNERAL OF LEONA M. ARBOUR
    The funeral of the late Leona Patricia Arbour, 2-year old daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Leonell Arbour, 24 Second Street, Port Arthur, was held yesterday afternoon from the family residence. Leona died Saturday as a result of a scalding received when she fell in a tub of hot water. The funeral was held from the home to St John's Anglican Church at 2:30 o'clock. Rev. A. J. Bull, rector, officiated. Many friends of the family were in attendance a large number of beautiful floral tributes were received. Interment will be in Riverside Cemetery. The body was placed in thevault. The pallbearers were: Tom Sutton,Matthew Sutton, Donald Goodspeed, and Earl Wallace.
