Sybil never married or had children. As a young woman, she studied nursing at the New Orleans Sanitarium, which later became the Presbyterian Hospital from which she graduated in October 1912. Initially, Sybil took a private nursing job in New Orleans. Throughout her life, Sybil tookcare not only of her patients but also her family in later years, tending to the needs of sister Maude and her husband Nap, as well as sisterBenie. She lived in Jackson, Louisiana, at the time of her death.

04 April 1881 -- Born in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, Sybil Margaret ARBOUR was the 10th of 11 children of lumber merchant Octave Roland ARBOUR andhis wife Susan Caroline GAYLE. Sybil never married or had children. Asa young woman, she studied nursingatthe New Orleans Sanitarium, whichlater became the Presbyterian Hospital from which she graduated in October 1912. Initially, Sybil took a private nursing job in New Orleans. Throughout her life, Sybil took care not only of her patients but alsoherfamily in later years, tending to the needs of sister Maude and her husband Nap, as well as sister Benie. She lived in Jackson, Louisiana, at the time of her death.
