- After their wedding, Vercheres and Telesphore lived in the United States from 1911 to 1916. They lived in Ste-Marcelline, Quebec, between 1936 and Telesphore's death in 1947 and thereafter through 1974. Vercheres and Telesphore eventually had five children together, two daughters and three sons.

27 Feb 1878 -- Emelie-Vercheres ARBOUR was born in St-Emelie-de-l'Energie, QC - the middle of 11 children of Charles ARBOUR and Odile MORIN. She grew up on her family's farm, learning what it meant to be a part of a big family. On 03 Aug 1909, Vercheres would have the opportunity to have her own large family when she wed the widower Telesphore THOUIN. She instantly became step-mother to his 8 surviving children, who were between the ages of 5 and 17. It seems as though Vercheresdelayed her own child-bearing until 1913, when the first of her 5 children were born through 1920.
