04 May 1878 -- Born in Joliette City, Quebec, Marie-Anne ARBOUR was theelder of 2 children born to baker and farmer Ours-Joseph ARBOUR and his first wife Marie-Amanda CHAMPOUX. Eighteen-year old Anna married 26-year old Medard PARENT in Joliette on12 January 1897. Just like her father, Medard was initially a baker but later turned to farming in order to feed their growing family. Anna and Medard had 5 children, 3 daughters and 2 sons. Anna and Medard lived at 84 deLanaudiere Street in Joliette in 1901. They owned a 3-room house plus 6 outbuildings on 120 ¼ acres. It was probably also the location of Medard's bakery shop. He earned $1000 that year, quite a princely sum compared to many of the time. In 1911, the family still lived in slOCLC|ementtropolele?ees18 Rivitab» «tab»Joliette but it is unclear if they had the same home. Medard was just shy of his 55th birthday when he died in Joliette on 11 March 1927.Anna was 50 when she died in Joliette on 28 December 1928. They wereboth buried in St Paul's Catholic Cemetery in Joliette.
