Eighteen-year old Anna married 26-year old Medard PARENT in Joliette on12 January 1897. Just like her father, Medard was initially a baker but later turned to farming in order to feed their growing family. Anna and Medard had 5 children, 3 daughters and 2 sons. Anna and Medard lived at 84 deLanaudiere Street in Joliette in 1901. They owned a 3-room house plus 6 outbuildings on 120 ¼ acres. It was probably also the location of Medard's bakery shop. He earned $1000 that year, quite a princely sum compared to many of the time.
