The office manager of Arrow Security Corp. in Springfield was killed and his 44-year-old daughter seriously injured when their car was hit by a stolen car driven by a 14-year-old boy at Dwight and Carew Streets around 6 p m yesterday. Police identified the victim as Raymond Arbour, 62, of 367 Broadway, Chicopee, a passenger in the car. Police said the driver was his daughter, Kathleen Godbout, 44, of 185 New Ludlow Road, Chicopee. She was listed in serious condition today at Baystate MedicalCenter suffering from broken ribs and internal injuries, a nursing supervisor said. Police said the youth was arrested at 2:26 am and charged with vehicular homicide and driving to endanger, leaving the scene of apersonal injury accident, and driving without a license. Traffic Bureau Capt. Francisco M. Basile said the accused youth, who lives at 264 Franklin St., went through a red light and struck the Godbout car "broadside." Basile said he later surrendered himself to police, coming into the station with his mother. Arbour's death was the seventh highway fatalityof the year in Springfield. Theyouth was to be arraigned today in Juvenile District Court. Because of his age, his name was not released. Police said the Godbout car was traveling west on Carew Street when it was struck by the southbound caron Dwight Street. Springfield firefighters responded to the emergency and assisted in removing the victim and Godbout. An autopsy was to be conducted later today at the office of Hampden County Medical Examiner Dr. Loren Mednick to determinethe exact cause of death. Jerome Wilder, a spokesman for the medical examiner, said Arbour died at Baystate of multiple injuries. John D. DeBarge, Arrow's security manager, said Arbour had been an auxiliary police officer for the city of Chicopee for many years. Arbour had been working for Arrow for thelast four years. His daughter, Kathleen, was also employed by the firm, as second shift operator, DeBarge said.
