Notes - Benjamin was born in Bolsterstone. He was living in Dublin in 1810when brother William went there to study at the hospital, but from thetone of his letter to his father, William's relationship was notclose.He was left a legacy by his father Abrham in 1866, and a wife andchildren werementioned but not by name.The 1841 Census returns in which a Benjamin Jackson of the right ageis mentioned, cannot be definitely confirmed.Benjamin is belived to have had a disagreement with his father,FrederickValentine Jackson, who refused to pay for him to become adoctor. He tookan external degree in English at London Universityinstead, qualifying in 1893. He taught English in schools in Oundle(1894), Erith (1896) andMiddlesborough (1902 - 1903) before movingback to Sheffield.He lived at Wincobank and Harcourt Road where he coached privately athis house.Hedied of emphysema on 14 April 1932.
