FrancineArbor Croxson, age 59 years, died at her Algiers,LA, residence on Wednesday, 23 June 2010, at 6:30 pm. Life partner of Richard Shields. Ms. Croxson was a graduate of the University of New Orleans, and was a retired Social Worker for the State of Louisiana (Algiers office). She was atrue advocatefor low income families and their housing needs, and worked diligently to that end. In addition to being a world traveler,she was a true pioneer in the historic preservation of Algiers Point, buying and restoring historic homesin the mid 1980s longbefore it became popular. At her request, no services will be held. In lieu of flowers, donations are suggested to the American Cancer Society. Tharp-Sontheimer Funeral Home of Metairie in charge of arrangements.
