ARBOUR, Harold Roland Arbour, age 83, longtime Merrimac resident, died at his home Sunday, 1 June 2008, surrounded by his loving family. He was the husband of Barbara J. (Howe) Arbour, his wife of forty-seven years. Born in Lewiston, Maine, 22 June1924, son of the late Ernest and Elmina (LaChance) Arbour, he attended the Sacred Heart school in Amesbury.A proud veteran of WWII, he served with the US Navy from 15 December 1942, until his honorable discharge on 28 November 1945, as Seaman FirstClass. Mr. Arbour was an operator for the MBTA and was a former Trustee for the Town of Merrimac Cemetery Department and a member of the BlueKnights, Chapter No. 14. In addition to his wife, he is survived by two daughters Michelle Malone and husband David and Delores Roy; three sons, Mark Hume, Michael Hume, and Gregory Griffin; nine grandchildren, two nephews, one cousin, Joan Carrier, and his beloved dog, Ruby. A funeral mass will be celebrated on Thursday, 5 June 2008, at 10 am at StJosephChurch, 2 School Street, Amesbury followed by interment in Locust Grove Cemetery, Merrimac. Visiting hours at Paul C. Rogers & Sons Family Funeral Home, 36 West Main Street, Merrimac, will be Wednesday from 6 to 9 pm. In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to the Merrimac Fire Department, 16 East Main Street, Merrimac, MA 01860 or tothe Hospice of the North Shore, 10 Elm Street,Danvers, MA 01923.

ARBOUR, Harold Roland age 83, longtime Merrimac resident, WWII Navy Veteran, died at his home 1 June 2008. He was the beloved husband of Barbara J. (Howe) Arbour; devoted father of Michelle Malone and husband David; Dolores Roy; Mark Hume, Michael Hume, and Gregory Griffin; proud grandfather of nine wonderful grandchildren; uncle to two nephews, cousin of Joan Carrier, and faithful and devoted owner of Ruby, his beloved dog. A funeral mass will be celebrated on Thursday, 5 June 2008, at 10 amat St Joseph Church, 2 School Street, Amesbury followed by interment in Locust Grove Cemetery, Merrimac. Visiting hours at Paul C.
