EAST, CLARA ARBOUR
Owner of Eastwood Plantation, she died Friday, 13 Sept 2002, at Lane Memorial Hospital, Zachary, after a lengthy illness. She was 97 and wife of the late John L. East, who was of Plains. She is survived by a sister, Tallulah Arbour of Baton Rouge; three nephews, Joseph H. Arbour and wife Evelyn of Baton Rouge, Frank Brian Arbour and wife Bennett Ann, and Willard Arbour and wife Lisa, all of Atlanta; and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins by marriage and by blood. Surviving also are her faithful employee, John Hadden; and devoted nephew, John Troth. She was preceded in death by her parents, Henry and Anna Brian Arbour; and brothers, Frank Brian Arbour, Willard L. Arbour, and Joseph H. Arbour Sr. Pallbearers will be Johnny Hadden, John Troth, Joseph H. Arbour Jr., Brian Arbour, Hardy Brian, and Willard Arbour. Special thanks are given to her loyal and longtime caregivers for their loving concern over the many years, without whom her life would have been different. She referred to the following as her guardian angels, Iona Veal, Elizabeth Davis, Margaret Judson, Mildred Mills, Pearlie Fields, and Darrell Jetson, all of whom referred to her as Mrs. Daisy. The family wishes to thank the staff at Lane Memorial Hospital fortheir great care and compassion. Visitation at Rabenhorst Funeral Home, 825 Government St., from 9 am Monday until funeral at 11 am, with the Rev. Kenny Lairdofficiating. Burial inRoselawn Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations maybemade to a favorite charity.
