Notes - Their nephew Peter ARBOUR remembers his Uncle Gord and Aunt Reta: "We would go there most times in the summer. They had a pool in the backyard, and three cousins, too. We didn't interact much becausethey were a bit older than Arlene [his sister] and me. The parents would talk and thekids would swim and have fun in the pool. This is funny: I never said anything about it but Uncle Gord reminded me of Popeye the Sailorman. HaHaHa! I knew he was a sailor because Dad showed me pictures of him onabig ship. Uncle Gord was in the Navy, but he didn't smoke a pipe like Popeye. HaHaHa! Every time wewent there Uncle Gord and Aunt Reta would always have a big smile for us."
According to Deborah RUSE-ARBOUR: When Gord married Reta, they blended their families: his three and her four filled the house with seven children. Also, it was not Gord but his brother Steve who wasin the Navy and it was probably he who wasthe onewho looked like Popeye -- although Steve and Gord looked so much alike it was hard to tell them apart.
