  As a young man, Octave enrolled at Louisiana State University Agricultural and Mechanical College on 4 November 1877. He intended to study Mathematics, English, and French. Octave and Anna had 12 children, eight daughters and four sons. Theyoung family lived in Iberville Parish, Louisiana, in 1900 and in 1910. In 1920, Anna lived in Baton Rouge at 756 Government Street.
