  Notes	Louis Gamache died September 11, 1854 in Anticosti Island , but no burial record has been found. The story is that he died alone and a trapper named Goudreau has discovered several days after his death and is buried with his second wife. Gamache's wife Christine and daughter both died in L'Isle -Verte, victims , it seems , of smallpox. They were buried there 10 July 1836 . Thecouple had nine children. In 1837 , it is believed, Gamache married his second wife, Catherine Lots in Quebec , and three children were born of this marriage. In mid- November 1845 , she died on the island. She was alone with her children the eldest of whom is six, while Gamache washunting. After an absence of several days , he came home anddiscovered her and made a very basic funeral , according to the means available .
