Jean had a heart conditionand was a patient of the famous Dr. Leon. She had just tunred 39 a fewmonths before she died. It was very sad and tragic for her husband andtwo young sons.

From Catherine via email on 18 Aug 2009: Aunt Jean was great. She married Uncle Jack and had two boys. She lived across the street from my high school. So some days I would go over for lunch and we'd decide to go shopping for the afternoon. She'd call theschool - pretend to be my mother - and tell them I was sick. My mother never found out. Her death was so tragic. She had a massive heart attack at the age of 39 at home inbed. My Aunt Irene was supposed to have lunch with her -when she didn't answer the door Aunt Irene let herself in and found her. She was 15 years older than me.

From grandson Scott SHIPPEE <sshippee a copleycg.com>: Anna and Ernest for a long time lived in the same house as Rose and her husband. Anna ran a small luncheonette in a building in the front called Anna's Luncheonette for a few years. They later moved to 20 Hare Street in West Warwick, where they lived until my grandfather died in 1970. Anna later moved in with my parents while they were living at 46 Helen Avenue, Coventry RI. In 1977-78we moved to 29 Gardner Avenue, in West Warwick. You might note a similarity with the address that Anna was born (10 Gardner), that address nolonger exists, as Gardner ave now starts wth 25. Both my Grandmother and Grandfather were mill workers, Fabric & Dye works for the most part, as far as I know.

ARBOUR v. MURRAY
63 So.2d 425 (1953)
222 La. 684
ARBOUR
v.
MURRAY.
No. 39479.
Supreme Court of Louisiana.
February 16, 1953.
This is an appeal from a judgment taken on confirmation of default. Theplaintiff brought suit against her husband for divorce, custody of their children and alimony. The plaintiff alleged that her husband has carried on an illicit love affair withone Mary Veca, wife of F. Fowler, for the past five years; that he is living in open adultery with Mary Fowler; that a child was born of this illicit relationship whose birth registration shows the father to be Frank Joseph Murray, who is no otherthan Francis A. Murray, the defendant; that her husband admitted to her the illicit relationship and that he was living in open adultery with Mary Fowler. She asked for judgment of divorce, custody of the children and alimony. The defendant failedtoanswer or oppose the suit and the plaintiff produced evidence to support her demands on confirmation of default. The lower court gave judgment granting the plaintiff a divorce, custody of the children and ordered the defendant to pay the plaintiff$30a week alimony. The defendant has appealed. The defendant contends thatthe evidence is insufficient to support the judgment. He takes the position that the evidence is not sufficient to sustain a divorce on the ground of adultery. The plaintiff and her sister-in-law testified that they made an investigation in the neighborhood where the defendant allegedly lived in open adultery with Mary Fowlerand were told that Mr. and Mrs. Murray lived at 2514 Columbus Street, which is the addressof MaryFowler. They said that they had made inquiry at the corner bar and a grocery store concerning the defendant and had watched a car, which they claim was the defendant's, parked in front of 2514 Columbus Street. They testified that they had never seen the defendant in that neighborhood. The plaintiff said that the defendant admitted to her that he had been living in open adultery with Mary Fowler and that a child had been born from thisillicit relationship. The record contains a birthcertificateshowing a child was born to Mr. and Mrs. F. J. Murray. There is no evidence in the record to support the plaintiff's allegations that F. J. Murray and Francis A. Murray are one andthe same person nor is there anypositive proof that thedefendant is the person residing with Mary Fowler at 2514 Columbus Street. The admission of the defendant that he was living in open adultery with another woman is not sufficient evidence to authorize the granting of a divorce. The mere acknowledgment of thetruth of the facts alleged to have been made by either of the parties even if it were in the form of an authentic act can never be deemed sufficient foundation for a decree of divorce. Harman v. McLeland, 16 La. 26. It is stated in the opinion of that case: "In such serious matters, the law requires more than the simple confession of one of the parties to dissolve forever the bonds of matrimony between them;facts must be shown, and such facts as will authorize a court of justice to declare that the interference of the law is absolutely necessary. The judgment must be rendered `en grande connaisance de cause', as Pothier says; and the mere acknowledgment of the truth of the facts alleged, madeby either of the parties, even in an authentic act, can never be deemed sufficient to be the foundation of a decree of separation of bed and board and afortiori of a divorce. Pothier, Contrat de Marriage, Vol. 2, Nos. 517 and 518." In the case of Mack v. Handy, the court cited the caseof Harman v. McLeland, supra, and stated that, "Courts may, without impropriety, entertain such proof, in corroboration of other proven facts, fromwhich adultery may be inferred; but not as substantive evidence. Such proof is insufficient,of itself, toconvict the defendant." In the case ofSiebert v. Klapper, the court held that there was no confession by thedefendant and that hisprior statements were not sufficient to sustain the charge set forth in the petition and, "The testimony to show thatafact was acknowledged is not admissible in evidence." All other evidence in the record is in the nature of hearsay and soindefinite, if admissible, that it does not prove the defendant was guilty of adultery. It is well settled that theproof of adultery must be clear and conclusive to warrant the granting of a divorce. Salles v. Salles; Clark v. Clark;Raynerv. Rayner; Meyer v. Hackler; Clay v. Clay. Under the provisions of Article 312 of the Code of Practice, judgment bydefaultmaybe enteredupon proof of the demand but the proof in cases of divorce on the ground of adultery must be preciseasto time, place and the person involved. The proof presented by the plaintiff in this case is not sufficient tosupport a judgment of divorce based on the ground of adultery. For thereasons assigned, the judgment is annulled and set aside and the suit is dismissed as of nonsuit. Cost to be paid by the plaintiff-appellee.she had 2 children with Mr Murray

MORIN, Pamela -- At St Joseph's Health Centre, Sudbury, Saturday, 26 November 2005. Pamela Morin (nee Arbour) beloved wife of the late PhiliasLeclerc and Gerard Morin in her 92nd year. Dearly loved mother of Marcel Leclerc (Pierette)of Hanmer and Solange Griese of North Bay. Lovingly remembered by eight grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. Predeceased by a son Benoit Leclerc and parents Georgina and Michel Arbour. Family receiving friends at the McGuinty Funeral Home, today from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm. FromDenis ARBOUR via email on22Oct 2008:
According to the obit, Paméla is a daughter of Georgina and Michel ARBOUR. I think her parents could be Michel ARBOUR and Marie-Georgiana ARBOUR. According to you, Paméla could be a dau of Joseph ARBOUR and LudivineAUBÉ. This is disturbing given the fact that Michel and Joseph ARBOUR are brothers . . . I now believe there is only one Philias LECLERC. But who are Paméla's parents? I found Philiasand Paméla's (Yvonne) marriage in a churchrepertoire. Have you seen the actual church record? Perhaps some names were mixed up either in the church record or in the repertoire. Seeing the actual churchcordsure would help. Another theory (I don'tlike it): There are two different PamélaARBOURs. Philias married the first one and then married the second after the first one died. . .

From Denis ARBOUR via email on 28 Oct 2008: No, the priest was not confused. And, yes,the marriage record is probably correct and the obit isprobably wrong. Here's an explanation: Paméla's mother died less than a month after Paméla's birth and Joseph's brother (Michel) and his wife (Georgiana) took care of her.Paméla was only 19 (a "minor") when her father died in 1933. Even though Michel and Georgianaprobably adopted her, six years later, when she married Philias LECLERC, everyone knew who her real parents were. At the time of her death, almost 70 years later and far away from the Bellechasse area, nowonderthere's some confusion about Paméla's parents in the obit. Agreed? A bonus: The marriage record shows that Philias LECLER had been previously married to a woman by the name of Lumina (aka Joséphine) FOURNIER. According to the BSQ, they were married on 20 Nov 1931 (locationunknown). Lumina FOURNIER died 29 Aug 1938 in Quebec City.
--> Note: The LECLERC-FOURNIER marriage took place at StRochIn Quebec City, QC.

Ottawa Citizen (ON) -- Friday 19 Jun 2009
LENSER, Patricia Ann (nee Arbour) 1952 - 2009 Passed away on Wednesday,17 June 2009. Beloved wife of Gordon Lenser. Predeceased by mother Lillian Arbour. She leaves behind sisters, brothers, aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and many many friends. Friends are invited to visitat St Ignatius Roman Catholic Church, 518 Donald Street, Ottawa on Monday, 22 June 2009, from 9 am, until time of Memorial Mass at 11

From Catherine MOUSSEAU DUNNE via email on 19 Aug 2009: My cousin Patsie who passed away this past June had awonderful sense of humour. She used to turn the awful things (her motherwas Lillian) that happened at home as a childinto funny stories. Aunt Lillian sent her to my grandmother's house one summer for 2 weeks. Patsie told my grandmother thather birthday was the next day. My grandmother quicklywent to the five and dime store and bought her a gift, baked her a cake, and had a wee party for her. Grandma knew what a hard life Patsie and the others had with Aunt Lillianand even though money was tight wanted to do something special for Patsie. At the end of the two weeks Aunt Lillian arrives to get Patsie and grandma gives her hell for missing her daughter's birthday . . . Aunt Lillian says, but her birthday is in September. A saying of Patsie's was always: I married Gordie for his money and I'm not leaving him until I find it. A bittersweet story about Patsie would be when she got cancer. She ended up having numerous surgeries and she would always tell thedoctor she loved him and make him tellher that he loved her as well. She would even get him to hug her and kiss her cheek. Then as they would bewheeling her into surgery she'd look at the doctor and remind him that he loved her and you wouldn't let someone you love die now would you??!! I have told you about Willie having mental health issues - even though he was Patsie's brother, when hewould do something outrageous, like he once chained himself to a tree on the Ottawa Courthouse lawn, she would be the first to come out with something funny about it. She told me that even though she lived in a different city from Willie any time shewanted to see him all she had todo was turn on the 6 o'clock news.

FromCatherine via email on 19 Aug 2009: Patsie was unable to havechildren.

Windsor Star (ON) -- Friday 18 Dec 2009
O'REILLY, Leona Marie (nee Arbour) Died peacefully at the age of 95 on 15 December 2009, after a brief stay in Toronto's Houses of Providence. She had moved to the Toronto geriatric care centre afterliving almost 60 years in Windsor, Ontario. Leona, known to many as Lena, is predeceased by her husband Edward (1963), her oldest son Edward (2004), and a granddaughter, Suzanne (1976). She is survived by a large and loving family including her children, Wayne (Gail), Mary Lou, Robert (Virginia) and Anne Sprague (Douglas), and daughter-in-law, Nancy. Leona was born on 11 August 1914, in Waubaushene, Ontario, the youngest of Marie (Therrion) and Alfred Arbour's 11 children. Raised in an idyllic rural community in NorthernOntario, she grew upamong the joys and simplicities of farm life from which she derived many entertaining stories to share in later years. As a teen, Leona thrilled to the robust competition between her two NHL-playing brothers often pittedagainst one another when theirteams played at Maple Leaf Gardens in Toronto. At the time of her death, the youngest Arbour was predeceased by all of her siblings, Fred Arbour, Emily Lacroix, Ernest "Ty" Arbour, Jack Arbour, Ida "Ede" Hickey,Edna Davis, Alsime "Al" Handy, Agnes"Gig" Middleton, William Arbour, and Mae Boyleau. Along with her husband, young family, nearby brothers and sisters and many in-laws, Leona spent someof her happiest years in Toronto as a young bride and mother. In 1953, after a relatively shortstint in St. Lambert, Quebec, the O'Reillys embraced Windsor as their new community and became particularly intertwined with life at AssumptionHigh School. In the '50's and early '60's, Leona was appreciated not only as a varsity sports fan but, more importantly, as the launder of team uniforms. Alongwith her husband, who led the school's Dad's Club, sheforged a happy alliance with the Assumption family. In 1963, upon the death of her husband Edward, Leona was left with a young family toraise. With fierce independence and a sense of resolve, trademarks of her long life, she embraced the role of single parent. In particular, Leona never lost sight of her commitment to the education of her three boys and two girls, an achievement from whichshe derived great pride when thejob was done. Self-sacrifice and hard work were the hallmarks of her life and, in many ways, Leona was well ahead of her time in other lifestylechoices. Long before the 100-Mile Diet she fostered her good healthwithlocally grown produce. A child of the Depression, she managed to live exceptionally well within hermeans, admonishing those who spent what they didn't have. And she handled all of this with witty observationsof her family's escapades. During thosemany years as the family matriarch, Leona also personified the role of traditional grandmother. She knit in winter, picked berries in summer, preserved in thefall, and baked all year round, all to ensure that the larder was full for her growing family. She made special occasions just that and never shirked from the day-to-day responsibilities of life. Through this and so much more, she continually exhibited her capacity to get the job done. In fact, a Windsor Star photographer once capturedherin an inspirational pose shovelling her Partington Avenue driveway when she was well into her eighties. She expected no less of herself. Leona's legacy goes on to include 13 grandchildren, Mary, Susan, Patricia, Edward, David, Johanna, Beth, Sean,Reilly, Karen, Maxwell, Luke, and Hannah; nine great-grandchildren, Adeline, Katherine, Rachel, Thomas, David, Samantha, Sadie, Kylla, and Tyler; and three great-great-grandchildren, Hunter, Mikaila, and Bobby. She is predeceased and/or survived bydozens of nieces and nephews and their families, ispredeceased by her godchild Denise Hickey, and is survived by god-daughters Jo-AnMascarin and Judy Vlossak. Memorial donations can be made to Maryvale Adolescent and Family Services, in Windsor, or the Houses of Providence, in Toronto. She will be remembered by family and friends at Families First Funeral Home & Tribute Centre, 3260 Dougall Avenue, Windsor, (519-969-5841) on Friday with visitation 5-9 pm. On Saturday, familyand friendsare invited to meet at Our Lady of the Assumption Church, (350 Huron Church Road), for further visitingafter 9 am followed by a mass of Christian burial at9:30 am.
