Formerly of Augusta, Maine, he had been a resident of Southwest Florida since 2000. Jerry was born 9 November 1927, in Augusta, Maine, the son of the late Anselme and Marie-Ange (Poulin) Arbour. Jerry was predeceased in death by his loving wife of 45 years, Norma Gates Arbour, and his sister,Jeanne D'Arc Daigle. Mr. Arbour was a veteran of the US Army and Merchant Marines. He was most proud of being an interpreter for Dwight D. Eisenhower while being stationed in Paris, France. He owned and operated Jerry Arbour IceCream Distributorship Inc. which he built from scratch and serviced primarily Vermont and the New England area. He employed several people throughout the years. He was also a well-respected state representative for the state of Vermont. Mr. Arbour will best be remembered for his kind generosity, his love of life, his ability to bring out the best in people, and for his keen ability to walk into a room and make people happy! But far more important, he will always be remembered forthe deep love he had for his family -- they were everything to him. Heis survived by his loving children, Gerard J.
