Miss Me But Let Me Go
When I come to the end of the road
And the sun has set for me
I want no rites in gloom filled rooms
Why cry for a soul set free?
Miss me alittle - but not too long
And not with your head bowed low
Remember the love that we once shared
Miss me, but let me go.
For this is a journey we all must take
And each must go alone
It is all part of the masterplan
A step on the road to home
So when you are lonely and sick atheart
Go to the friends we know
Bury your sorrow in doing good deeds
Miss me - but let me go.
Love you forever. May you rest in peace. We love you. Gilbert, Marge, Carolyn, Lorraine, Debra, and our families. | PESONEN, Edith (I2669)

From Catherine MOUSSEAU DUNNE via email on 18 Aug 2009: Leo married a woman who was 11 years older than him. They seemed to have a good marriage and had one son, named Allan. Leo lived in Toronto (about 5 hours from here) but would come up home to visit a couple of times a year with Aunt Pineapple. When Uncle Leo and Aunt Eilleen married, my oldest brother was about 3 or 4. She loved to tease him and one day he looked at her and called her Aunt Pineapple. The name stuck. All of the nieces andnephews grew up calling her Aunt Pineapple.
From Catherine via email on 20 Aug 2009: My Aunt Eileen got pregnant asa young woman. The man she was in love with went off to war - he was killed and didn't know about the baby to be. Aunt Eileen raised Donna on her own. Donna Mousseau actually gotmarried 2 months after her mother married my Uncle Leo. Donna married Wayne Rivet on 10 October 1964. Aunt Eileen and Uncle Leogot married on 22 August 1964. They both got married in Campbell's Bay, Quebec. Leo did not adopt her as she was alreadyan adult and on her own. He did treat her like a daughter, though. I donot have any information on Donna's birth. I do know that she is closeto my mother's age though. Aunt Eileen was 17 years older than my mother.
From Catherine via email on 21 Aug 2009: Last year on June 29th my AuntEileen diedandshe was cremated a few days later. I always save big projects(usually) for the summers when I'm off work. I was busy painting my son Andrew's room when the phone rings. It's my mother and she tells me that Uncle Dan and Aunt Irene are downstairs and Uncle Dan wants to talk to me. Can I please come downstairs? She sounds upset and I ask herif it's an emergency because Iwas in the middle of painting the ceiling. Uncle Dan takes the phone and says: Your Uncle Leo just called andheis extremely upset. I say of course he is, his wife just died. Uncle Dan says no, it'smore than that. I ask what's wrong?! Uncle Dan says: There was a fire at the crematorium last night and they can't find your aunt. Your Uncle Leo is thinking of suing. Shannon, may the Lord forgive me, but I started laughing. I hung upthephone and went downstairs. I walk in look at my Uncle Dan and he starts laughing. Mom gets upset with the two of us. I say to mom: The owner of the crematoriumis stupid, whydidn't he just scoop up some ashes and put them in a container and give them to Uncle Leo. It's not like Uncle Leo would know the difference and it would save a dying man (he was dyingof cancer) this anguish. Anyways, momis not amused. 3 days later the custodian who had been on dutythe night of the fire comes back to work from his long weekend off. Hetells the owner, oh by the way, I was able to get all the containers of ashes out before the fire got toobad.I put them . . . and he tells the owner where the ashes have been stored. They call Uncle Leo and he getsAunt Eileen and is able to bury her - after a proper Catholic mass that is. When Uncle Leo died this past March, his son Allan used thesamecrematorium for him. My only comment was: Is he looking for trouble? | ARBOUR, Leo (I1663)

20 March 1910 -- Born in Bonaventure, QC, Joseph-Armand ARBOUR was the 9th of 11 children born to farmer Levi ARBOUR and Marie-Zephora POIRIER. Perhaps to distinguish himself from his siblings, Armand seems to have left Quebec as a young man and moved to Ontario or the US, according to his nephew Roger ARBOUR. In 1937, Armand appears to have become a father to Roger Allen ARBOUR, who was born in Chatham, Ontario, and was perhaps named afterArmand's nephew. The mother ofArmand's son is unknown. While Roger married and became father to 6 children, it is further unknown when or where Armand may have died. If you have any knowledge of this branch of the family, please do share.

In 1900, they lived at 5 Melville Street. In 1910, they lived at 19 Green Street. In 1920, they lived at 9 Melville Street and living with them was Esther's mother. By 1925, they were backat5 Melville Street, where they lived throughat least 1930. Perhaps the 1920 address was recorded in error. Also living with them in 1930 were grandsons Lawrence ARBOUR, 10, and Philip ARBOUR, 8. What had happened to the parents of these youngboys?

The Augusta record for early peas goes to Angus Arbour, gardener for Hon. John F. Hill, who supplied them for the table Jun 26. This does not look as though the spring had been very backward in this section (sic),though no small part of the credit goes to Mr. Arbour's skill and careas a gardener.

DULUTH FACED WITH STRIKE OF POLICE, FIREMEN
Duluth, MN (AP) -- The Duluth City Council, refusing to vote on a proposed pay hike for city employees, was faced today with the threat of picketing by police and firemen. Some 20 angry city employees and their wives stormed out of the Council chambers Monday night after the Council adopted a resolution by Councilman George Cruikshank, which forstalled ballotting on the pay question. Edward Arbour, president of the Joint Council of Firemen and Policemen, told the Council the three unions representing city employees would band together to take what he termed drastic action on the issue. "We arbitrarily gave up our right to strike," he said. "Now the time has come for a shiftin action. The police and fire department locals can do picketduty."

Shegrew up in Duluth (Tom Arbour's daughter) and spent a lot of time with my Grandma Ruth. I frankly don't even remember meeting any of my great aunts or uncles on his side either. Not only is there a confusion over the name Eugene used in the States, there is also some mystery surrounding his marriage, his life, and his death. At some point, he married Maude RIGGS, who was born in OR. Did they marry inOR? Their daughter Fernwas born there inFeb 1911. Did he ever actually marry Maude or did they have a common-law relationship? Their son Eugene was born in OR in Mar 1913. In 1918, Eugene lived in ID.Did Eugene and Maude live in OR for a few years (1910-1913) while theirchildren were born? Did they separate after this? Did Maude remarry? There is no record of her death in OR under Maude ARBOUR or Maude RIGGS. Also around this time, son Eugene was supposed to have run away from home as a teenager. Was it after hisfather's death? He reportedly ran to Uncle Paul's in NJ, but there is no record of Eugene in the 1930 US Census in any state.

Lecture faite." (signed) J. Eug. Martin P.
The part I underlined [written here within { }] is what we were lookingfor, and it tells it all. A first degree "affinity"dispensation (not sure about the translation) is exactly what was required before Pierre-Eugène (Joseph-Eugène) could marry his brother's spouse. Marie HUARD's first spouse isreported to be Joseph HUARD. I believe it's an error; the priest probably meant to write Joseph ARBOUR but was distracted. -- Denis SHE married the 2 brothers | HUARD, Marie Genevieve (I1907)
