Sometime after this, Arcule (aka Arthur) purhased an additional 40 acres. By 1913, Arthur owned 160 acres of Section 22, Twp 38 N, Ranges 19 and 20 W, located in Delta Co, MI.
___

According to the 1910 Census, Arcule was married to Minnie, but we havea marriage for him that indicates otherwise. Perhaps the Census taker was somewhat familiar with the family but a little in error as to Arcule's wife's name. If this wife is really Rose, then it makes sense that she reportedly had never borne any children, as Mary and Arthur belonged to Minnie. It also agrees with Arcule's marriage to Rose, as they hadbeen married 9 years, which is within a year of their 1899 marriage date.

In the 1920 Census, Arcule and son Arthur were listed as Arthur AURBURNSr and Jr, but indexed as AMBOUR.
___

Note added 29 Jan 2012: After thinking that Arcule and Minnie had only Mary and Arthur, we have found another child, Harriet, who died as a small child and was buried in a plot near which her sister,Mary, and her father's second wife, Rose, were later buried.

10136 In about 1928, 18-year old Lloyd moved with his family from Victoria Harbour to Toronto. Six years later, he fell in love with a young woman named Thelma Mary SMITH. Thelma was born in England in about 1907. At age five, she came with her family toCanada. In her younger years and prior to meeting Lloyd, Thelma bore three daughters. Dulcie and Helen lived to have daughters of their own, but a third died in a car accident atage seven. Mindless of Thelma's past, Lloyd married heron 3 November1934 at St Paul's in Toronto. Reverend J. G. FULLERTON officiated while Alfred GIROUX and Lloyd's sister Henrietta ARBOUR witnessed. Lloyd and Thelma had three children together, one daughter and two sons. They alsoadopted twogirls who were Thelma's granddaughters from her two grown daughters. Lloyd was a 54-year old bricklayer when he died in Sarnia, asthe result of head injuries received in a freak car accident. He was working at the Sun Oil refinery one very foggy morning and was backingoutof the main gate with his head out of the car window so he could see.He never saw the gatepost and crushed his head between the gatepost and the car door sill. What a tragedy for the family!

10145 In her will dated January 24th 1701 Isabel made a bequest to Margaret Keanish 'for abideing with her son till may come twellmonth'. She also nominated her ONLY daughter Ales Corteen her executrix. This seems to indicate that there were no other daughters but the parish registers record Isabell (1691) and Kathe (1694) as daughters of Thomas Corteen. Was there perhaps another Thomas ? or did Isabell & Kathe die before their mother ? CORTEEN Thomas (I26843)

TAY SOLON DIES, PINNED UNDER TREE
Pinned under a tree he was cutting in a bush in sub-zero weather near Port Severn, Charles Arbour, 73, of Waubaushene, Tay Township councillor, was found dead by neighbors around 7 pm last night. Prov. Cons. Jack Shepherd, who investigated, said Mr. Arbour went alone to Pratt's bush,on the old Port Severn Road, in the morning to cut cordwood. When he did not return home at 5 pm, a neighbour, Harry Walker, and his two sons, Russell and James, went searching for him. Mr. Arbour was found lyingon the ground with a tree about 8" thick and 25' long lying across hisstomach. The aged man had apparently had his noon meal for embers werestill smouldering in the wood fire on which he had cooked his dinner. It is believed the accident happened between 3 and 4 pm. Dr. G. Brown, Coldwater, and Dr.D.C. Swan, Midland Coroner, were of the opinion that Mr. Arbour had frozen to death when he was unable to free himself, Cons. Shepherd told this paper. It is not known yet whether or not an inquestwill be held. Member of a well-known Waubaushene family, Mr. Arbour is survived by his wife and several brothers and sisters.

From Carolyn HUDSON: A sad ending for a wonderful uncle, and aunt who always had an apple for their little niece. They had no children, so their nieces and nephews received a generous portion of love.
